Introducing Shutterstock Footage®
Shutterstock®, Leading Stock Photo Agency, Launches Video Capabilities
New York--April 25, 2006
--Shutterstock® (www.Shutterstock.com), the largest subscription-based stock photo agency in the world, announced today that Shutterstock Footage® is
now
LIVE at footage.shutterstock.com. Shutterstock Footage is a resource for premium, royalty-free video footage. The launch represents another milestone for Shutterstock, the first among their competitors to branch from still photography into video, in a year marked by tremendous growth.
"We created Shutterstock Footage as a go-to source for top-quality video material at affordable prices," said Jon Oringer, Shutterstock's founder and CEO. "Our goal is to make Shutterstock Footage to video what Shutterstock is to stock photography: a vital resource for the creative community." About Shutterstock Footage Shutterstock Footage offers an eclectic collection of royalty-free material. Clips can be located by browsing through subject headings or searching by keyword. Once a clip is found, visitors to the site can preview the footage to verify that it matches their needs. Much like Shutterstock's lightboxes, Shutterstock Footage has a "clip box" function that allows customers to collect clips in one place for review. Pricing is determined by the resolution of the footage and starts at just $39 per clip. Each clip is available in three versions: "Original" refers to the format in which the video was received, and every clip on the site also comes in "Standard Definition" and "Low Res". Once a video clip has been purchased, the buyer can use the footage royalty-free, forever. A Growing Collection Shutterstock Footage's video library is growing every day. Much like Shutterstock, which benefits from a global network of over 25,000 photographers to supply its ever-growing photo library, Shutterstock Footage relies on submissions from videographers. All submitted footage is evaluated based on strict criteria including resolution, quality, and subject matter. Footage that makes the cut is added to the site. Videographers receive a 30% commission each time one of their clips is downloaded. "Submissions are pouring in, and we're growing the collection every day," said Oringer. "We encourage talented videographers to submit their work." Submission guidelines are as follows:
